THIS PLACE SUCKS
We have lived here since 10/2023 and I’ve had to put in 11 maintenance requests. They have been somewhat helpful with getting ... them done in a timely manner but it’s really ridiculous the amount of problems that arise. It’s true there are mold problems and the unit above mine also flooded my apartment. The fact these are reoccurring issues for multiple different tenants tells you something. please don’t move here , refer to Yelp for the reviews , management is always changing , mold problems , they try to raise ... rent expect you to pay 3 thousand for a storage sized apartment I had a 2 bedroom and I kid you not there was no closet space what so ever , the apartments are small , claim to be dog friendly but neighbors always complaining of the dog noise you moved into apartments , not the mountains if you want peace and quiet I’m so happy and finally at peace that I’m finally out of this hell hole of an apartment THE REMM GROUP AND THE MANAGEMENTS MANAGER Leanna Tevis Are HORRIBLE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HELL HOLE TO NOONE ! Completely incompetent management, and that’s putting it nicely. We had a scheduled electric repair from 2/2/2024 8:00pm- ... 2/3/2024 8:00am without any notice from management. Days prior, the apartment above mine flooded water all over my kitchen appliances in the middle of cooking dinner. They rented me this apartment without a heater, and when I pointed it out maintenance came by 3 times to check, told me management approved a heater installment since they put in the wrong wall unit. A week later, the apartment manager insisted that he and another co-manager enter my apartment to see if I was actually telling the truth about not having a heater. Management is very incompetent. I moved into a seemingly new studio apt only to find out there was a roach problem, water ... pressure issues, toilet problems. The managers of this property are also very scatterbrained and forgetful. They seem nice but cannot keep track of anything. If you are a lazy, inconsiderate, and gross dog owner like me, look no further and make South Olive Apartments in Alhambra ... your next home! 1. They allow dogs of all sizes, I have a large german shepherd and my neighbor has a doberman and they rented to us even though they say they don't. 2. The managers don't mind if you let your dogs poop on the grass in front of all the other homes/apartments on the street and don't ask that you pick up after your dog! I don't want to pick up german shepherd size sh*ts, do you? I want to just smoke my ciggie and play on my phone and leave the huge clumps of crap to fester for everyone else to walk by. Rented here not even for a full year because they never take care of their property and just cover things up with new paint ... jobs. Water problems literally ALL THE TIME, water damage ignored, and mold growing in all the apartment units. They don't clean the units before a new tenant moves in, don't inform you there's been water damage and mold problem. Management doesn't help act on anything or will straight up ignore you! DON'T MOVE IN HERE YOU'RE GOING TO GET SCREWED OVER! THE MOLD IS INSIDE THE WALLS AND FOUNDATION, THEY JUST PAINT OVER IT TO TRICK YOU, YOU WON'T SEE IT UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE. Just got a notice that after my first year lease is up, my monthly rent will be increased by $207 per month, which is a 12% ... increase. Alhambra is not rent controlled but is limited to 10% increase. I am a retired veteran on a fixed income, I will effectively become homeless because I can’t afford to pay $207 more per month on this one bedroom apartment. By the way, this apartment does not have the amenities they claim to offer, no hardwood floors or microwave or highspeed internet…. If you are considering this place keep looking. Just because you can raise the rent doesn’t mean you should go for the max without considering the tenants ability to pay. Like the title of my review says, it’s all about the money, not the tenants. The manager has been replaced and this place has greatly improved. Here is a short list of the included amenities; gated ... access with covered parking, beautiful pool area with barbecues for use, linoleum flooring that looks like hardwood (instead of carpeting, my preference), on-site laundry, fitness room, some pets allowed, and elevator. I moved to S Olive Apts on 2/5/2022. 3 weeks later our section started experiencing some challenges with squatters in one ... unit. Mary immediately started the ball rolling to help remove them. Remember it takes time because California protects these people. She went the extra mile for me to get me an apartment in 3 days when I sold my childhood home. Being a property manager and dealing with so many different personalities can be a huge challenge but Mary has done the best she can and I truly believe we need to put ourselves in her shoes and understand that she can't solve world hunger but spends time beyond her regular work hours to help our community. As I have made you aware of on numerous occasions, the tenants in #18 have not be adhering to the 10 p.m. rule of being reasonably ... quiet, as is the case frequently they have been ignoring it, last night (1/18/21) what sounded like furniture moving across the floor until 2 a.m. I am asking you for what seems like the 30th time to be a real manager and to do your job and not let them disrespect you again.
